“GREEK” KEY LIME PIE WITH DANNON OIKOS
Hi. I’m Missy Chase Lapine, also known as the Sneaky Chef. My passion is finding
sneaky ways to make your favorite recipes wholesome. Today, we’re going to make
an awesome key lime pie, using a Smart Swap.
Now, a Smart Swap is when you take a traditional ingredient, like cream cheese,
and substitute it with Dannon® Oikos® Greek yogurt. It has 80% less fat than regular
cream cheese. It has such a creamy, rich texture, and it’s fantastic for cooking.
Ready to get started? First, we take a cup of Dannon Oikos Greek yogurt. Look at
how creamy and thick and delicious that looks. Five egg yolks. A 14-ounce can of
sweetened condensed milk. Quarter cup of lime juice or key lime juice. About a tablespoon
of lime zest. Wow; that smells amazing.
Let’s whisk that up. This recipe couldn’t be easier. And we’re going to pour it
into our prepared graham cracker crust. Now, I’ve already gone ahead and preheated
my oven to 350 degrees. Simply put your pie into the oven for 15 to 18 minutes until
it’s set. Then, you chill it in the refrigerator for about an hour, and it’s ready
to go.
So, I’ve chilled my pie for about an hour, topped it with just a little whipped cream
and a piece of lime, and I am ready to taste it. Just look at that silky, delicious
texture. Mmm! The flavor of the lime really comes through, and I don’t miss the
cream cheese at all.
So, there’s my Smart Swap for a delicious key lime pie, using my very special ingredient,
Dannon Oikos Greek yogurt. To find more ways to do a Smart Swap with Dannon Oikos,
